What is arterial wound care?

Arterial wounds are non-healing sores caused by reduced blood flow from blocked arteries. Care focuses on restoring circulation — often with angioplasty or stenting — alongside wound treatment so the tissue can finally heal.

How is an arterial wound different from a venous one?

Arterial wounds come from too little blood reaching the tissue and are often painful, while venous wounds come from blood pooling. Correct diagnosis with an ultrasound is essential because the treatments differ.
